Another influence on my adaptation
Edward Scissorhands is loved by everyone for being different, even though he could easily be perceived as scary. His scissor hands are actually a talent rather than a hindrance in many ways.
This influenced my adaptation in the way it embraces the ‘monster’, making him a local celebrity.
Another influence on my adaptation.
Frankenweenie involves a boy who loses his closest friend, his dog, and after learning about galvanism in class tries to bring him back to life.
The community is disgusted when they see it and try and kill the dog.
The influence this played on my adaptation is the love between the master and his creation and the eventual turmoil where they must escape to stay together.
Hammer Horror’s Frankenstein

This was probably where I first ever saw Frankenstein so has some influence on my adaptation.
Frankenstein Summary (personal overview)
A scientist becomes interested in galvanism. He takes parts from humans and animals and puts them together to form his creation. After experimenting with galvanism his creation comes to life. Frankenstein thinks his creation is hideous and it is called a ‘monster’. This monster is abandoned and learns how to speak and read by observing the community. After this he ends up causing destruction and killing (although originally by accident). Following further tragedy, Frankenstein ends up dying on a boat and the monster, saddened by everything that he has done, leaves to die in solitude. These were the main points I got from the story, and the main points that I would be changing or taking influence from in my adaptation.
TARGET AUDIENCE
Frankonistov, if animated, would be similar to Adventure Time, Spongebob, and the Regular Show. A mixture of childish and mature humour.
